ONE WEEK OLD!
Paisley will be one week old tomorrow. This week hasn't been too bad. Most nights she has only woken up once or twice. The first two nights I had to wake her up to feed her. We are working on getting on a schedule which seems to be going ok. We wake up at 8:00 and Paisley goes down for her first nap at 10:00 then Jaysa and Paisley go down for a nap at 2:00 and then Paisley takes her third nap at 6:00 and they are both in bed for the night by 8:00p.m. Its not always successful but we are getting better and better everyday. I really love having a schedule because to allows me to get things done. The only reason I was able to go back to work after having Jaysa was because she was on a schedule. I am not going back to work this time but I am still in school so hopefully I will be able to get homework done when both girls go down for their nap. Being a Mom of two is a lot harder than just one. Jaysa has been running a fever this morning and its really hard to divide my time between the two. Its going to be really hard when C.J. goes back to work and isn't around to help.

Heres a few pictures we have taken this week of Paisley.
My cute baby
It's so fun to see her awake.
Trying to get this little girl on a schedule means trying to keep her awake as much as we can between naps. This has NOT been easy. We try everything from rubbing lotion on her to giving her baths and showing her how to play with all her toys. If we are lucky she will sometimes stay up for 30 mins to an hour.
Sleeping beauty

I love this picture. She looks like a little garden gnome.
One of the nurses at the hospital told us that there was just a study done that showed that swaddling a baby with their arms out can lower SIDS. To keep Paisley's arms warm we stick socks on her. Looks goofy but it works. The Nurse also told us that sucking on a binky at night will also lower chances of SIDS. Just thought these were both interesting and thought I would share.
Love
Jaysa showing a little interest in Paisley. She hasn't been too interested in her. She goes over and looks at her every once in a while and sometimes pats her head but but she doesnt want to get any closer.
Can you see the baby? This is how Jaysa sleeps. She loves to be surrounded by all her blankets and babies and animals. We haven't moved Jaysa out of the crib yet. She still hates the big bed. Paisley is just in there taking a little nap.

NO CHOCOLATE FOR ME
I am so sad. I know that a lot of women can't eat chocolate while they breast feed cause it hurts the babies belly. I was hoping I would be different... I am not :( I can't eat chocolate :( Poor Paisley. I had a lot of chocolate today and she got the worst belly ache. I felt so bad. She just cried and cried and cried. I don't want to have to see her like that again so I am saying goodbye to chocolate until Paisley is done breast feeding. So long chocolate I will miss you so much.

JAYSA AND PAISLEY
Jaysa and Paisley's baby pictures actually look a lot alike
Not sure why this pic turned out so small but here is Jaysa.
Here is Paisley. I know they both look goofy in these pictures but I just wanted to show how much they really look alike.

OUR LAST NIGHT AS A FAMILY OF THREE
To celebrate our last night as a family of three we took went to Maverik and bought some chocolate milk and some of the donuts Jaysa loved so much for her birthday. We also rented a Despicable Me and went home and watched it in our bed "the big bed" as Jaysa calls it.
Jaysa enjoying her chocolate milk in a sippy so she doesn't spill
I was having a little craving at Maverik so we got every kind of packaged donut they had.

LABOR STORY
The doctor told us that for my induction the hospital would call me anywhere from 12:00am Monday morning to 12:00am Tuesday morning. Big window huh? Well we got a call at 4:00 in the morning from the hospital telling us to be there at 5:30. So I got up and put some makeup on so I didn't look scary in pictures. C.J. took a shower and we got Jaysa set up at a friends house (Thank you Drew and Dab) and headed in. My mom came up Sunday night so she was already there. It was such a blessing just to be able to be prepared and know within a 24 hour window when the big event would happen. We got to the hospital at 5:30 and they put me on monitors and started some petocin. I was afraid I would start having bad contractions right away but it took 3 or 4 hours before I felt anything painful. They broke my water sometime in the morning around 8:00 and I had an epidural soon after that. This was C.J.'s favorite part to watch with Jaysa. For some reason he is so facinated with needles and anything medical. At first he just decided to stand behind the doctor but the nurses made him sit on a stool just in case he got woosey. Good thing because he started to get sick and had to look away to keep himself from fainting. I think he got woosey this time because he had an empty stomach. He ate a small breakfast and no lunch. I LOVED my epidural except that it made me itch all over! I kinda freaked out cause I thought I was having an allergic reaction but I guess it a common side effect. I would rather itch than run a fever so it was ok. They gave me some benydryll to help. Around 11:00 C.J. was really starting to get hungry and asked the nurse if he had time to grab a bite to eat. Just to make sure she decided to check me and said "oh boy, you don't have time to go anywhere. Let me go get the doctor. We are going to have a baby." Several nurses came in a few mins later and told me we were going to push. So we waited for a contraction and half way through my push they told me to stop so that the doctor could get there. (Oh and by the way my doctor came in when I was dilated to 5 and said he had to go to the dentist! My jaw dropped when he told me that. Ha Ha. It probably doesn't sound like it but he is the best doctor in St. George. He even has patients that come up from Vegas because he is so good. I am sure that if I wasn't on petocine he wouldn't have gone. After he left they turned my petocine down to make sure I didn't progress too far.) Ok so my doctor came in and I pushed three times through one contraction and once through the next contraction and she was out! I am so happy I didnt have to push long because after they gave me benidryll I felt SO drugged and had a hard time even understanding what people where telling me! Overall this labor was a PIECE OF CAKE compared to Jaysa.
I never told my labor story with Jaysa so I will just sum it up in a short paragraph sentence. I got to the hospital at 5:30 in the morning and asked for an epidural right away cause I was in a lot of pain during my contractions (probably because when I woke C.J. up and told him it was time to go he GOT IN THE SHOWER!) it's funny now when we look back at it but I was in pain at the time. Turns out I went to the hospital at a bad time because there were 5 other girls that came in around the same time and I was the last one of them to get my epidural. I had to wait two more hours after I asked for my epidural!!!!!! I still have never felt anything as painful as those contractions! I was ready to scream at all my nurses. Jaysa was also facing the wrong way so she had to get past my pelvic bone to get here. Because she was facing the wrong way I had to push for about an hour to an hour and a half. They even brought in the vacuum in case I couldn't push anymore. Right before Jaysa came I remember thinking if she doesn't come with this push I give up. Overall I was in labor with Jaysa for 16 hours and 12 was spent in the delivery room. With Paisley I was in labor for about 6 hours and I pushed for NOT EVEN 5 mins! The difference in my labor experiences is night and day. I am so grateful that everything went so well this time.

Jaysa stayed at our friends Jake and Prissy's during the day. Thank you so much Prissy!
This is Jaysa and their son Nash. Jaysa loves Nash so much.
Look at that cheesy smile

JAYSA MEETS PAISLEY
Jaysa was not allowed into the part of the hospital where all the moms and babies stay because its RSV season so she had to stay out in the hall by the elevator and look at her through the window.
I think she understood what was going on. I showed her my somewhat flatter belly and told her that that was the baby that was in moms belly.
She even tried to lift up my hospital gown to find my big belly. ha ha too cute

Here are two videos of Jaysa and her reaction to Paisley.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!
I LOVE chocolate strawberries! I really wanted to try to make this Valentines special since we were going to be in the hospital. We made some chocolate strawberries the night before and brought them to the hospital. This pictures is after we ate a few and shared them with my doctor and all the nurses.
Jaysa loves chocolate strawberries just as much as me!
Look at her dirty face
and her dirty hands
YUM!
Of course we had to have some sparkling cider!
Jaysa wanted some too.
She loved it. Look at her licking her lips!
C.J. and I decided we would make each other cards this year since we didn't have time to go get each other gifts. C.J. told me he could make a better valentine card than me any day. I couldn't believe he thought this obviously I have failed to show him how creative I can be. He should have seen some of the scrapbooks I made in high school! Anyway I showed him up with this Valentine "To a Real Man." At first I was going to make it all girly but then I had this great idea to make it camo. Maybe it will help him like the holiday more. (he thinks that now that we have a baby born on Valentines he doesn't ever have to celebrate Valentines day again. HA! that wont happen)
Had a write a sweet note inside though!
I hate this picture but i wanted to show the cute valentine C.J. made me.
This is Jaysa opening her Valentine present. We just got her a bunch of candy.
YUM!

COMING HOME
Paisley in her cute outfit Grandma bought her.
Such a little girl.
In her car seat.

JAYSA
She got this cute hat for Valentines too. It says "Camo Cutie" She loves it and wanted to sleep with it on!
Here is a better picture of her with it on. I think she looks so cute in it.
Just a cute pic.
Jaysa calls this her baby bed. This is where we keep all the baby blankets and she loves to get in and play with her toys.
This keeps her entertained for a while and she is so cute when she is playing in it..
This is Jaysa and C.J. using the rest of the poppers we didn't use for our awesome New Years celebration. :)
And the sparklers.
